Enjoying some spring weather

We enjoyed some time in the park and a little hiking.

Our primroses are blooming even with the dead leaves.

Spring flowers are in bloom! I love springtime and all the happy flowers and warm weather.

Groovin in D.C.

We went to Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday. We watched the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. It was very humbling to see so many grave markers. So many people were willing to give their lives, so that we may live free. I saw one of the first trees in bloom of the year.

Then we went down to the fishing wharf and saw the awesome literal houseboats. We bought muscles and crayfish that we brought home and cooked. We also bought some very yummy hush puppies and crab cakes. It was quite the feast.

We also tried out a new cupcake shop called The Sweet Lobby. They were so yummy!

I really liked the crayfish once I got over the cute bug eyes that seemed to say please don't eat me.

Dad got really tired after the feast.

Lawrence got a new carseat for his birthday and loved siting up and getting to see out the window.

On Sunday we celebrated his birthday a little early, and he loved eating a cupcake and a piece of key lime pie. It was quite the mess though.

We had Honey Pig Bulgogi for dinner with sticky rice.

We've had quite the cultural experiences this trip...we've had Peruvian, French, Mexican, Belgian, Cajun, Korean, Tai and American food this trip. But most importantly, we have spent some quality time together. I love spending time with my family! So sad to leave tomorrow.

Visiting Clayton and Nicole

So far we have had so much fun visiting. Thursday night we made the best onion rings I have ever had!

Friday we went to the Washington, D.C. Temple. I tended Lawrence so everyone else could do a session. He fell in love with a sister missionary and just could not understand why she would not want to hold him (it's against the rules). He's our junior missionary. Then we had dinner at a Peruvian chicken place. Getting excited for CalDon's mission for Peru!

Saturday morning Grandpa and Lawrence spent some time in the hammock which led to a nap.
